[Music] Conflagration

I’ve been meaning to write a piece in this idiom for years. It’s an industrial/orchestral hybrid. I don’t know why, but I always find this style of music fun, notwithstanding its occasional heaviness.

More of the usual Native Instruments suspects at play in this piece: Kontakt, Massive, FM8, and Battery. All of them driven by OpenMPT and Xlutop Chainer.

I’d like to congrat you on the nice peace of music. 🙂 I’m myself very much of a fan of this sort of musical combination (i.e. orchestral + something, e.g. instructrial + orch or ambient + orch or gothic + orch, etc.).

Your track sounds both rich, atmospheric and epic from one side and tense and active from the other. If you ask me, it’s going to be quite nice piece of music for a game OST, don’t you think?

BTW, have you heard Frank Klepachki’s OSTs and albums? Or the OST of Gorky Zero?

    Thanks for sharing it, mate!

Thanks Svetlin — I’m really glad you liked it! 🙂 You’re right — I think it could work in a game.

I’m quite a fan of the music in the C&C series. I remember trying to extract the music from Red Alert and C&C so that I could listen to it outside the games. 🙂 I’ve not actually played Gorky Zero, so I haven’t really had a chance to listen to its soundtrack. From a quick poke around YouTube, though, I like what I hear!

Thanks for writing back, Barry! I’m very glad you’ve heard of Klepacki, he’s OSTs are really so good. Have you listend to his albums? Rocktronic is a favourite:

Keep up the good work! I’d be very happy to hear any musical updates on your part (And new code, too, as a matter of fact)!

    Cheers!

BTW, would you mind it if I post it on my Facebook page? With proper credits, of course. Sorry, if I’m bothering you too much.

Not a problem at all! All of my music is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial No-Derivatives license, which effectively means that you’re more than welcome to download it, share it, post it on Facebook, and otherwise distribute it without any problems — so long as you attribute it, don’t sell it, and don’t modify it. 🙂

I really appreciate your asking — it’s also prompted me to put the CC license details onto all the tracks I’ve uploaded so far this year.

    Great news!

Very good that you mentioned your earlier tracks as well as, I’m sorry to say, I’ve missed them somehow. They are all top class if you ask me.

As to Facebook, I wonder, haven’t you got a Facebook page so that I can just like them instead of uploading them to my wall? Or at least have you got them on soundcloud? FB seems to include them automatically as playable widgeds if you post the link. 🙂

One more thing: some of the previous songs are not working, saying “File not found” or something and the song archive (the one containing all 18 tracks) is missing, too. Perhaps you should upload them somewhere.

Thanks very much. I think you’re really talented in this sort of music.
